I repeat this story although it changes all the time
To take the daily news and throw it in a rhyme
Bizarre things in life I'm forced to hear and see
...Behind the walls surrounding everyday humanity

We blew up the east for weapons of mass destruction
Now the president wants governmental reconstruction
But may be he should pay whatever that will cost
Since we found nothing and a lot of lives were lost

We have sports players who go a little too far
And the media keeps making them a Hollywood star
What kind of role models do we allow for our kids
When they go around acting and living like this

Did you hear of the guy that was on the internet
Who ran an ad that will be so hard to forget
Knowing it’s scary 400 volunteers agreed to meet
After all he wanted people to process, cook and eat

How about the guy who was in a restaurant eating
The police took him outside and gave him a beating
Because he was overweight it wasn’t their fault
When he died from their vicious and savage assault

There is a common virus that’s powerful and new
People have started dying from just having the flu
And now it’s hard to enjoy a warm summer night
Because we can get killed from a mosquito bite

Are we merely puppets performing on the stages
If existence is a slave and realities the master
Then life's getting strange as each minute goes faster
